Transform a standard unfinished pine pie safe into a handsome hutch. First apply a mustard-color stain inside, rich red on the outside. Replace the glass fronts with chicken wire to infuse lots of country charm. Outfit with boxes and small freestanding drawers for clever caches and a funky vase or clock for personality.
Covered in fabric with big, blowsy blooms, a trio of hatboxes, you salt away anything small completely out of sight. Notice that the materials don’t match exactly, but the similarly-type florals and blue palette yield a visually pleasing display.
