Hyacinths  thrive in constant moisture.  They do well in pebbles or soil, but are happy to show off their roots in water alone in hourglass vases designed for forcing these flamboyant beauties.

 

paperwhite

Purgent paperwhites grow in stones, marbles, even glass beads, as shown here in a silver pot.  Top with moss and strands of pearls.

 

 

tulips

What better choice to contain tulips than a tulip-edged Majolica pitcher.  A planting tip:  If flat sides of bulbs face the pot rim, leaves will fan outward.
