Think outside the frame—create a customized and creative look through using your family photos
A Collage Table
A glass-topped coffee or side table makes a perfect place to show off cherished photos. Remove the glass on the tabletop, arrange a group of images to create a funny, elegant, abstract or nostalgic assemblage. Here we chose favorite vintage snapshots in various shapes and sizes from old family albums. Consider how people will use the table-pictures facing in multiple directions can look great on a table that people sit around. When you’re satisfied with your layout, simply reinstall the glass top over the photos.
New Life for Old Window Frames
An old window rescued from a home renovation project or a slavage yard can be reinvented as a multipicture frame. Have new panes of glass installed professionally (use all glass or a combination of glass and mirrors, as we did). Then select images from a series or some that complement on another, measure the panes carefullhy and print your images to size on heavy photo paper. Because the prints are large, had printed at a photo labon glossy photo paper. Held the images in place on the panes temporarily with double-sided tape, then sealed all the edges with ¼-inch white masking tape. – For more decorating ideas: www.lhd.com/home
